We had dinner here on Saturday and were glad we did. The drinks were good and the nachos/food were good too. Although they weren't on the menu, we asked, and they kindly made them for us. Spacious room towards the back of the restaurant. I recommend trying them.

Came here for brunch and it was pretty good. The menu is small and they have bottomless for $30 but we weren't planning on drinking. It's mostly savory items for brunch, which French toast as a sweet dish. The restaurant was nicely decorated and there were plenty of seating. The server was friendly and greeted us right at the door. Our food was served in a timely manner. The flavors of the dishes were pretty good and price was reasonable for it. Would recommend for a Mexican brunch in the area. It's nothing too special or different but it's good.

We were hanging around Astoria exploring and we stumbled on this place through my quick (but thorough) research on yelp I decided on Mayahuel. I love when I go on a whim and it works out in my favor. First impression walking in is that they really thought out the design. the finishes are so well done and beautiful. the restaurant wasnt overly crowded but had a few tables. One of pet peeves is when a restaurant has space and sits you right on top of another table. This was not the case here. They understood the assignment and sat us on a nice corner with a great view for people watching. We ordered queso fundido con chorizo, carne asada tacos and chorizo octopus tacos. I was so impressed with the food. They did a great job with presentation, service, and cookery. When I am in the area I will definitely come back. P.S. They surely make a good margarita!

Service was good although food could've been better. We started with the guacamole and the aguachile. The aguachile was incredible. It was spicy and bright with fresh lime, it tasted very fresh. The guacamole was pretty disappointing. My guess is that it's supposed to be come creative elevated version but it didn't work for me. It had no cilantro, onion, or jalapeño. All guacamole staples. It was basically mashed avocado with too much lime with some red oil in the middle and pickled carrots. Despite mixing everything it was still not spicy and lacked an authentic taste. The steak tacos were good although served cold and I was expecting corn tortillas but got flour instead (there was no option on the menu). Overall our experience was good and I would probably go back for the aguachile.

We had such a great time last night! The food was a surprise with its elevated simple but complex flavors. We ordered several dishes to share but honestly my favorite was the tuna tartare served with the silkiest avocado mango puree and lightly fried sweet potato chips. Highly recommend! They have happy hour which we didn't even realize till we received the bill. The drinks were really nice, you have plenty of options from the traditional to more swanky type. The staff was so friendly and our server was very attentive. It was our friend's bday and they sang and treated her to dessert. The restaurant is pretty spacious and has three different areas to sit in. It's great for large parties, they easily can slide tables together. I'm definitely going back for the tuna tartare appetizer and excited to try other dishes.

Absolutely love this place from its vibe to its food. The atmosphere was cozy and on the fancier/trendy side which I appreciated. The waiters were very friendly and had great recommendations. They were also super attentive and brought water, napkins, and utensils when needed. The food was delicious and packed with flavor. None of the dishes or drinks disappointed. Definitely recommend this spot!

What an awesome hidden gem, located at the end of a rather quiet block in Astoria! I found them on Yelp and after looking at their recent reviews and photos, dinner plans were set. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the absolutely gorgeous ambiance. I love how the space just seems to keep unfolding as you walk in. The dining room in the back is pretty massive yet feels quant at the same time. As for food, I got the Tlayuda (Crispy Corn Tortilla, Black Bean Puree Oaxaca Cheese, Salsa Morita), Quesadilla (Corn Tortilla, Oaxaca Cheese, Salsa Molcajete, Guiso Of The day) and the Baja Fish Style Beer Battered Tempura (Salsa Morita, Cabbage, Spicy Mayo, Pico De Gallo). While they were all delicious, my favorite was the fish tacos. I could legit eat 6 of those in a row but a las, I devoured the three I ordered. Would I come here again? In a heartbeat! It was a Monday night so it was rather quiet, though I imagine it's a pretty lively setting on a Friday or Saturday evening.
